Another great feature about the new PANO Progressive Web App is push messaging. Instead of just bookmarking or pinning the app to your home screen, we recommend installing our web app. This will give you the added benefits similar to a native app for your phone, tablet, laptop, and even desktop computer.
Usually reserved for native apps only, push messaging has been embraced by most device manufacturers and OS developers. Apple recently added support for push messaging on their devices for iOS 16.4 and greater. You can read more about it in this article here: 9to5mac.com article. Android, Windows, macOS, and ChromeOS already support push messaging although a specific web browser may have to be used to implement it with each platform. With push messaging enabled, you'll receive our latest news updates as soon as we send them out!
Here are some brief guides on how to install the pano1544.org app on various devices. Note, the installation may be slightly different for alternate web browsers on the different OS platforms. Push messaging is supported on iOS 16.4 or greater when using Safari. Within a minute or two of visiting and installing our PWA, you should receive a prompt to enable push messaging. Please choose Yes or Enable for you to receive these. Please consult your phone guides for more information on installing PWAs.

- Open Safari and navigate to the pano1544.org home page.
- Tap the Share button at the bottom of the screen.
- Scroll down and tap “Add to Home Screen.”
- Tap “Add” for the pano1544.org app.
- The app will now be on your home screen and will function similar to a native iOS app.
- Recommended browser: Chrome
- Open Chrome and navigate to the pano1544.org home page.
- Tap the three-dot menu icon in the top-right corner of Chrome.
- Select Install as App option.
- Tap Add for the pano1544.org app.
- The app will now be on your home screen and will function similar to a native Android app.

- Note: Safari web browser on macOS does not directly support PWA push notifications yet. The pano1544.org website will function perfectly fine in any web browser though. Support is forthcoming in Safari for PWA push notifications.
