Governor Vetoes HB 42

PANO is pleased to report that House Bill 42, designed to weaken the state’s municipality's requirement to contribute and fund your retirement system, MPERS, was VETOED by the Governor on Wednesday, June 19, 2024.

The bill was passed by the Louisiana House & Senate but vetoed by the Governor. Opposition to the bill was made by the PANO board in person to the legislature and written opposition to the bill was sent directly to the Governor.
